On Monday, September 21, at 5:30 p.m., the Greenbrier Valley Theatre and West Virginia Writers will present the Literary Tea Community Poetry Tea to kick off the theatre's Literary Tea series for 2016.
Traditionally the community poetry tea has been saved as the last such tea of the season, but this year it will be the starting point for a five week series of teas celebrating literature.
At the community poetry tea, members of the community are welcome to come, enjoy tea and refreshments, and share either their own poetry or simply poetry they enjoy.
West Virginia Writers featured poet for the event is Sarah Elkins, who won Third Place in the Short Poetry category.
The literary tea series is free to attend and open to the public. It will take place Monday, September 21, 2015 at the Greenbrier Valley Theatre in downtown Lewisburg. Future Literary Tea dates will run October 5, 12, 19, and 26.
