Fay Thompson, 81, of Ripley, a long time member and past president of WVW, passed away January 10, 2016.
Fay was a widely published author, particularly of mystery and romance short stories. Her brilliant sense of humor often spiced her writing as well as her conversation. She was a mentor to other writers, always ready with tips on publication and how to make a good story even better.She won many prizes in the West Virginia Writers Contest.
A very modest person, only Fay's closest friends knew she was a former Miss West Virginia 1952..
Fay will be missed by her husband Glenn and her four children: Sheila Ann Zubick, Sherry Lee Thompson, David Bruce Thompson and Brian Keith Thompson, as well as a legion of friends.
At Fay's request, there will be no visitation or memorial.
