Dialogue on Fire Workshop, April 11

WRITERS OF ALL GENRES: Bring your notebooks & join poet, fiction author & playwright Theodore Webb 11:15 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, April 11, for the exciting new "Dialogue on FIRE!" Mountain Bridges Writers' Workshop Spring 2015 Event, at Evansdale Black Bear, 3119 University Avenue, Morgantown, West Virginia 26505.

This workshop is for writers working on comedy, short stories, songs, poetry, novels, memoir, creative nonfiction / nonfiction, plays, scripts & more!

Using workshop techniques, participants will have fun practicing/writing their own dialogue, individually & in groups. Participants will write dialogue together in co-writing sessions (as done by TV writers) to foster creativity & will leave the workshop with fresh ideas/inspiration.

Ted will share his 5 Secrets of Writing Effective Dialogue, expanded from his well-received "5 Things I Learned About Dialogue on the Way to the Theatre" published by PenPaperPad.com. The author will share lessons learned, tips, ideas, and techniques gathered while working with the renowned authors who brought Morgantown the New Works Festival scripts.

Ted will share script examples from his popular October comedy stage play/show, "Zombie Texts from the Future" (see review here: http://www.thedaonline.com/arts_and_entertainment/article_0dad33ce-60c0-11e4-b885-0017a43b2370.html), along with dialogue excerpts from his literary short story, "Is Freedom on the Menu," in Diner Stories: Off the Menu published by Mountain State Press. 11:15-11:30 a.m. - Sign In (as registered)
11:30-1 p.m. - Coffee with the Writer / Lunch order individually at Black Bear front counter / Question-Answer / Writing Feedback
1 p.m.-3 p.m. - Workshop

REGISTRATION: To cover printing costs (hand-outs/packets/materials), ADULT workshop registration is only $20 for those who preregister before the Tuesday, March 3, deadline. ADULT registration after Tuesday, March 3, will be $25, until all slots are filled.

COLLEGE STUDENT registration will be only $15. HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT registration is $10.

Any students under age 15 MUST be preregistered & also MUST have a REGISTERED parent accompanying the student/students during the entire workshop.

NOTE: Registration is for materials / workshop ONLY & does NOT include lunch or drinks. Evansdale Black Bear opens at 11 a.m. Saturday April 11 with a delicious menu for individuals to choose their particular lunch and / or drinks. Food / drinks can also be enjoyed during the workshop.
